Dog friendly self catering holiday cottages:
We love animals, especially dogs, and we genuinely welcome your furry friend! We have also had a Burmese cat come to stay!
The dog walking in this area is superb, and we have mapped out the walks which are particularly good for dogs, and left directions and OS maps. There are footpaths starting almost from our gate, and you can walk for miles and miles through woods and valleys, with very little roadwork. The views are wonderful. You won’t meet many other people either!
There are plenty of places where most dogs can be off-lead.
Around the cottages:
The cottages do not have their own enclosed gardens. You are welcome to shut the gate to the whole property but the wall is not high or dog proof for an escape artist. There may also be sheep in the fields and cats at large so you might have to keep a close eye on your dog when you let them out. We don’t insist on leads as we find out guests know their own dogs and are always sensible. (Obviously when you are out walking, you will need to put your dog on a lead if you encounter livestock.)
We ask that you don’t leave your dog alone in the cottage, except that crate trained dogs may be left for short periods in their crate. (We have a large crate that you can borrow provided your dog is happy in it. )
If you forget any of your dog equipment, we can lend you leads, bowls, etc and can provide emergency supplies of food. We can also lend you a crate and a stair gate.
We leave a dog towel for you but you will need to bring your bed, blankets, etc, with you.
